I had a wonderful stay with Kabi and his family in Barang Village. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with so much love and warmth. The private room and bathroom made everything so comfortable, and every morning I woke up to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain range.Kabi and his family treated me like one of their own, feeding me delicious, organic farm-to-table meals everyday. I even had the opportunity to learn how to cook some of their traditional dishes. Kabi also helped organize and customize a small trek to Panchese for me since I was short on time but still wanted to trek.The villagers are all incredibly kind, and the slower pace of life in Barang was such a refreshing contrast to the hustle of everyday life. This experience truly nourished my soul, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to stay with such a wonderful family. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, peaceful, and enriching experience!

This is an authentic Nepal homestay experience, not far from Pokhara in a nice village. The host family is friendly and invites you into their village life. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Worth a visit.

This was one of the most magical stays I have ever made. The place is beautiful, you have the most perfect view and the cleanest room. The family is beyond kind,they make you feel so well taken care of and they are the most giving people I have met. I felt very at home with the whole community,they make you feel like part of them. I would recommend it to anyone, this was the highlight of my Nepal trip. I will definitely be back🙏🏼

Every day, we were surrounded by the natural beauty of the Himalayan foothills, and every interaction with the locals made it clear that this community lives harmoniously with nature. The homestay itself is very comfortable, and the organic, farm-to-table meals were a highlight (especially from Ama's cooking).I cannot not fit in everything I would like to say in this review about my experience, but in short, it is a MUST do experience. Our experience was one of our most treasured throughout our time in Nepal. From the organizing & communication with host Kabi from the start to being so warmly welcomed on arrival. We truly felt like we were part of the family from the get go and were treated to a real insight of life in Nepal. We were not only given a comfortable place to stay but we were given an immersive experience from preparing a meal with dear Ama (who is the BEST cook in Nepal) to helping cut grass for the buffalo's with Baba, to hiking around the village & seeing some beautiful parts of nature. We loved learning about Nepalese culture and how committed these villages are to caring for nature, for their people & their animals. We were even lucky enough to celebrate a holiday with the local family which was beyond amazing. I highly recommend to all who are looking outside of the touristy areas for an immersive experience in Nepalese culture- you will certainly find your family & home away from home 🥰

From the moment I made my booking, I received a message from Kabi who soon became a dear friend and local guide. Although I was traveling alone, I never felt alone. Kabi went above and beyond during my stay with his family, ensuring every detail of my trip was taken care of. From coordinating activities, drivers, and accommodations, Kabi and his family made my experience in Nepal unforgettable. When I arrived at the village, I was welcomed with open arms and was fully immersed in their way of life. From helping prepare meals, cutting grass, hiking, and more, it was clear how the village was committed to caring for nature and the people within it. I learned so much about Nepali culture, even having the chance to celebrate a holiday with a local family. If you're looking for an immersive and cultural experience, I highly recommend booking this homestay. I am now leaving Nepal with a home away from home.

How To Reach Us?

One option is to take a jeep directly from Pokhara to our village. The drive will take about 1 hour and 10 minutes, and you will reach our community homestay without any transfers. This is the best option if you are in a group. We can arrange a Jeep transportation for you. 

One of the easiest and most convenient ways is to take a taxi. We can arrange for one to pick you up from your hotel in Lakeside or any location in Pokhara. The drive to Ghattichhina will take approximately 1 hour, and once you reach there, one of our representatives will be waiting to take you to our homestay. It’s a short 15-minute uphill walk from there to reach our charming community homestay.

If you choose to take a local bus, the journey will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Ghattichhina. The bus departs from Hallanchowk, Lakeside, and there is a bus available every hour from 7 am until 5 pm. Once you reach Ghattichhina, you will need to take a short 15-minute uphill walk to reach our community homestay.

It’s worth noting that the bus that departs at 3:30 PM goes directly to our village, making it the most convenient option for travelers. Regardless of which transportation method you choose, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome at our community homestay in Barang village.
